Annual Catholic Appeal 2009: We are $945.00 away from our goal. Last year at this time we had already made our goal. If you have not already done so, would you please consider a gift this month? As you know, if we do not make the goal, we need to take the funds from our savings. All monies over our goal are returned to our parish. Thank you to all who have already contributed to our 2009 Appeal.
DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE - Plans are being made for a Diocesan Pilgrimage to Washington, D.C.
to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Sat., Oct. 3rd. This year the National Shrine celebrates it s 50th anniversary. It is a wonderful time to make a pilgrimage to honor Our Lady. We should be arriving at the Shrine between 11 and noon. The Pilgrimage will include community prayer and Holy Mass as well as free time for personal prayer and for touring the Shrine to see the many beautiful shrines in this magnificent basilica. If you are interested in making this pilgrimage, please sign the sheet in the back of the church.
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be at St. Aloysius the weekend of August 8 -9 to speak to any Catholic woman 18 years or older who would be interested in being a charter member in our Court Joan of Arc #716. Please stop by their table to speak with them after Mass.

Especially when no choir is present, the cantor may sing in alternation or dialogue with the assembly. As a leader of congregational song, the cantor should take part in singing with the entire gathered assembly. In order to promote the singing of the liturgical assembly, the cantor s voice should not be heard above the faithful gathered for Mass. Cantors should lead the assembly from a place where they can be seen by all without drawing attention from the liturgical action. The cantor exercises his or her ministry from a conveniently located stand, but not from the ambo. CALLING ALL GOLF ENTHUSIASTS! The Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart are sponsoring their Second Annual Invitational Golf Tournament to be held at the Summit Country Club, Cresson on Friday, September 11. Individual: fee, carts and dinner $100.00. For more information please call Richard at 472-5928. Due to the inclement weather last year, there was no naming of a champion. However, all the participants of the event came together for what we believe may have been the greatest rainout party ever. This year s victorious team will win first prize, retain all bragging rights, and be presented with The Invitational Cup. This impressive trophy stands at over three feet tall. Remember, as of yet, no team has raised the trophy in victory and we are intent on having a champion this year with the establishment of a rainout date of September 18, if necessary. We would like to have at least five foursomes from our Parish in the competition! We have a proud golf tradition here at St. Aloysius and have home course advantage!
I encourage your participation. Please make your reservations early.
