Dear Parish Family, I take this opportunity to remind you that this week (Friday Jan 22) we mark the sad anniversary of the Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade (1973) which legalized abortion. We will again be taking a bus from our parish and join with thousands from around the country for the annual March for Life in Washington, D.C.
The bus will depart from our parking lot at 7:15 AM. We will celebrate a special Mass at 6:30 AM on Friday morning the 22nd. All are invited to this Mass. I thank the Cresson Knights of Columbus for a $500 donation to help with the cost of our bus. We are continuing to accept donations to help defray the costs of the bus trip/sponsorship of marchers.
This day is observed in all diocese of the United States as a particular day of penance for violations to the dignity of the human person through acts of abortion, and of prayer for full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life. Personal acts of penance (prayer, fasting, etc.) are appropriate on this day.
You are also encouraged to pray a daily rosary during this week.
Blessing of Throats - As I will be away near the Feast of St. Blaise (Feb 3), I will offer the traditional individual Blessing of Throats a week early, NEXT WEEK-END (January 23- 24) following all Masses.
SNOWFLAKE BASKET BINGO - is TODAY in our Community Center. Doors open at 12 noon, Games from 1-3 PM. I ll see you there!

A few New Year Thank You notes to all who helped with putting away our Christmas decorations/cleaning the church for Ordinary Time, to all the teams who assist in the regular counting of our weekly collections, to our active and vibrant parish committees - our Life & Family Committee, working so hard on planning our trip to the March for Life the Stewardship Committee working on many projects! We are blessed with generous people!
Generous People First among our generous parishioners is secretary Mary Ann Earnest. May Ann has served this parish well under the pastorates of Fr. Robine, Fr. Mullen, Msgr. Little and myself. Over the years, her dedication and professionalism have kept our parish organized, financially sound and stable.
After the sudden death of Msgr. Little in 2005, Mary Ann guided the parish without a resident pastor for three months. I know you join me in thanking her and wishing her well. A Note From the Former Secretary - Dear Friends, I write this note with a heavy heart. For personal and medical reasons, I am being forced to retire. My retirement date was December 31. I want to thank all those who were so kind to me during my 23 and one half years. I started with Father Robine in 1986. Thank you for all the Christmas gifts, birthday cards, prayers, etc. but most of all for your friendship. Good bye. Mary Ann Earnest The Education and Evangelization Committee will meet on Tuesday Jan 19 at 7 PM in the Blessed Mother Meeting room to discuss plans for Lent and other future projects.
The Stewardship Committee will meet on Wednesday January 20 at 6:30 PM The Parish Finance Council - will meet on Sunday January 24 at 6:30 PM in the Rectory Living room.

Father, You have created us in your image and likeness. Strengthen our resolve to protect and foster the dignity of human life. The beauty and mystery of life is a most cherished gift. Watch over the unborn and guide the parents of these children I protecting their innocence. Through prayer and example, may humility be hailed as the divine gift it truly is.
