Only respond to this question if you checked 'no' in the previous question.

Acronym of your (new) GSO name [Required] B. NEW Graduate Student Organization (GSO) name

Before moving on with this New Charter, make sure to read this checklist:

Read and obtain a copy of the GPSG Act for Obtaining a Charter (referred to as the Act). Your Graduate Student Organization's Constitution and ByLaws must comply with this Act in all respects.

Your Graduate Student Organization (GSO) must be open to all UNC Charlotte students. It is allowable to have have requirements such as a minimal GPA requirement and/or dues. It must also be open to only UNC Charlotte students.

Your GSO's Constitution must state that the organization will abide by all rules of UNC Charlotte and the GPSG as stated in Section 1, paragraph c of the Act.

Your GSO's Constitution must include a non-discrimination clause as stated in Section 1, paragraph e of the Act.

New GSO's are reviewed by the GPSG Special Projects Committee. Once passed by the committee, they are voted on in the full GPSG Senate.

Representatives of the new GSO are strongly encouraged to be present at the GPSG Senate meeting when their organization is being voted on for chartering. Meeting dates and times are available on the GPSG website: http://suar.orgsync.com/org/gpsguncc/home.

Your GSO must appoint a senator. He/She is required to attend meetings of the GPSG Senate and holds voting power for your GSO. This does not preclude someone who is a member or officer of an organization from also serving as a Senator; however, Senators represent all students in their respective graduate program and not just organization members. GPSG membership and Senatorial appointments are open to all graduate students.

This may not be restricted or impinged on by any student organization.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte offers equal opportunity in its employment, admissions and educational activities with title IX of the Civil Rights Act of 1974, Amended, Sections 503, 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other state and federal non-discrimination laws. We hereby certify that the above-named organization complies with all regulations stated above (unless exempt under Title IX) and agree to conduct business and activities in accordance with the rules set forth in the document.
