RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

University of South Florida, Tampa, FL Ph.D. Candidate – Dr. Brian Space July 2010 –Present Performed grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulation studies of gas sorption and separations in various metal–organic frameworks (MOFs). Utilized classical polarization techniques for simulations in MOFs that are highly charged and/or polar. Identified the favorable sorption sites in MOFs from computational studies. Calculated the point partial charges and polarizabilities of atoms in gas phase fragments of MOFs using quantum chemistry computer programs.
