Prof. M.D. de Smet is a well respected authority in vitreo-retinal surgery. Of Canadian origin where he completed his medical training in Mc Gill and British Columbia, he did in 1992 a Vitreo-retinal fellowship in the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore Maryland (U.S).
